Photographers ages 6 and up can compete for up to $100 in prize money.
TEMPLE CITY, CA (May 23, 2019)—How do you see your community? Launching June 1, Temple City’s first annual photo contest invites residents to take their best shot at capturing their city’s spirit for as much as $100 in prize money and public exhibition opportunities.
Photos can be representative of Temple City’s history, community life, open space, recreation, arts, culture and more—in other words, anything that embodies the experience of living in Temple City.
Each contestant may enter up to five photos by the submission deadline of July 31.
Contest entries will be judged on overall quality, creativity and how well the photo portrays the Temple City community. Technical quality, clarity and composition are all important, but so are a flair for the unexpected and the ability to capture a picture-perfect moment.
Winners in each of three age categories—6-12, 13-17 and 18 and over—will be revealed in the winter issue of CONNECT. Winners will receive City Council recognition and Visa gift cards: $100 for first place, $50 for second place and $25 for third place.
Winning photos will also be exhibited at City facilities, in various marketing and promotional materials, and on the City’s website and social media accounts.
