Free event takes place Oct. 19 in conjunction with city's Annual Fall Festival and Car Show.
TEMPLE CITY, CA (Oct. 1, 2019)—Temple City’s free, all-ages Bike Expo rolls into town on Oct. 19, bringing an afternoon of safety and skill-building to Temple City Park.
The event will take place from noon to 3 p.m. and include an overview of the rules of the road and a guided obstacle course designed to teach and encourage safety. Bike inspections, helmet fit checks and lessons on how to change a tire will also be provided.
Participants must bring their own bikes and helmets and wear closed-toe shoes. Free bike safety lights will be offered to attendees while supplies last, and all are eligible to enter a giveaway for a free bicycle.
The event will be hosted in partnership with East Side Riders Bike Club, an all-volunteer organization based in Watts and focused on improving local communities through biking and service activities.
It’ll be held in conjunction with the Temple City Annual Fall Festival and Car Show, which is set to bring food booths, kid-friendly activities, and entertainment by local dance teams and choruses to Temple City Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., meanwhile, the car show will feature nearly 50 antiques, street rods and classics on view.
