Come one, come all! Join us Saturday, Aug. 1, from the comfort of your living room or backyard for a one-of-a-kind, Pokémon-themed campout experience under the stars!
Temple City’s Camp-A-Palooza moves from Live Oak Park to living rooms and backyards across the city. Though we can’t camp out together in person this year, the summer fun continues—from the safety of our homes. So gather online to play and swap stories with friends, neighbors and other Temple Citians via Zoom for family-friendly fun.
With the theme of “Pokémon,” an adventurous night of arts, crafts and games is planned for all ages. Running from 4 to 8:30 p.m., our parks and recreation staff will lead some of the activities through Zoom, while other fun happens during the “family time” segments. The 2020 camp includes a Pokémon Go scavenger hunt, Pokémon drawing, a trivia challenge, storytime, tent decorating, Pokémon costume highlights and a group s’mores activity.
Registration is $10 per person. Each participant receives a Pokémon Trainer kit. (For the uninitiated, a “trainer” refers to anyone who owns, catches, trains or battles with Pokémon.) Temple City’s “Trainer Kit” includes the materials for craft activities, a scavenger hunt list, camping-inspired giveaways, s’more ingredients and Zoom login information.
