Building

Although the City contracts with Los Angeles County for Building and Safety services, the Building program is based in City Hall.   The City’s Building/Housing Assistant assists the public at the counter, accepts construction plans and issues permits.  A Building Inspector is available 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Monday through Thursday.   Many construction projects, including room additions and remodels as well as all new construction must be reviewed and approved by Planning prior to plan check submittal.
