Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan

In October of 2000, the President of the United States signed the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 (Public Law 106-390), which is also known as the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act.  The primary burden is placed on the State to have a Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan in place by November 2004.  In addition, the act requires local jurisdictions (Cities, Counties and School Districts) to mitigate and plan for natural hazards.  Both the California Office of Emergency Services (OES) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) must approve this plan before a jurisdiction (City, County, or School District) is eligible to receive emergency monies if a natural disaster were to occur within their jurisdiction.

Below you will find the final copy of the City's Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan in PDF format.  You can also pick up a copy at City Hall, which is located at 9701 Las Tunas Drive, Temple City, California 91780.  If you have any questions or would like a draft copy sent to you, please contact Adam Gulick, Associate Planner at (626) 285-2171.
