Overnight Parking Permit Renewal
The City has begun processing
applications for the renewal of your 2009 overnight parking permit.
The fee for a 2010 overnight parking permit is $47. If the
City does not receive your renewal application by
November 30, 2009,
the City cannot guarantee that you will receive your annual permit
by January 1, 2010.
It is the responsibility of the
applicant to display a valid overnight parking permit (temporary or
annual) for 2010 by 3:00am on January 4, 2009. Temporary
parking permits may be purchased from the City's automated parking
permit machine located in front of City Hall at 9701 Las Tunas Drive
(see map).
Overnight Parking Permits
As
you may know, the Temple City Municipal Code requires that vehicles
parked on City streets between the hours of 3 a.m. through 5 a.m.
must have an overnight parking permit displayed. The Sheriff's
Department routinely cites vehicles for not displaying an overnight
parking permit.
The City offers two types of
permits: Annual and Temporary.
The cost of an annual overnight
parking permit is $47 and is issued on an "as needed basis".
An annual overnight parking application must be submitted to the
Public Services Department 5938 Kauffman Avenue. Once the
application is submitted, City staff will conduct an inspection of
the property to determine if all available parking is being used.
After the inspection you will receive written notification stating
whether your application was approved or denied. The cost of
the permit is non-refundable if your application is denied.
A temporary parking permit may be
purchased from our overnight parking permit dispenser
located at the southeast corner of City Hall 9701 Las Tunas Drive
(see map). The overnight parking permit
dispenser provides residents and guests with the convenience of
being able to purchase an overnight parking permit seven days a week,
twenty-four hours a day. Overnight parking permits are
available at a cost of $2.00 a day and may be obtained in one, two
or three day increments and are valid for one to three days from the
date of purchase. Residents and guests may purchase an
overnight parking permit with $1 & $5 bills, coins or credit
cards.
The overnight parking permit must
be displayed face up on the driver's side dashboard and the vehicle
license plate number must be entered in the space provided to be valid.
If the overnight parking permit
dispenser is out of service, an overnight parking permit may be
purchased at the Civic Center 5938 Kauffman Avenue during regular
business hours (Mon - Fri 7:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.).
After business hours, if the overnight parking permit dispenser is
out of service, a permit may be purchased at the Temple
Sheriff's Station 8838 Las Tunas Drive.
