The Parks & Recreation Department's Healthy Temple City program promotes wellness for individuals and families in our diverse community through active programs and recreation.  Our goal is for the community to Live Well and Be Active!  Each month Healthy TC offers a different challenge for families in the community to “Live Well and Be Active.”  This month’s challenge is the “Parks Make Life Better” challenge.  

The challenge will begin Thursday, July 1st and run until Saturday, July 31st. To get you started, we challenge you to join us as we kick off with a free event at Live Oak Park on Saturday, July 10 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. where families will enjoy a variety of picnic style lawn games and activities led by recreation staff. 

The first 10 families to enroll will receive one FREE Family Kit filled with chalk, one kite, and a bingo card game to complete the challenge for the month of July. Families are invited to join us Saturday, July 10 at Live Oak Park between 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m..

• Complete 5 activities in a row and be entered to participate in the Raffle scheduled for Tuesday, August 3^rd at 6 p.m. via Zoom.

Tracking and Submitting Activities

Participants will be responsible for tracking their activities using the provided July Challenge Bingo Sheet and submitting a total of 5 completed activities with photos as proof. Results will be on the honor system. Submit your sheet by scanning or taking a picture of the Bingo Sheet and email to Jordi Ubaldo, Parks & Recreation Coordinator, at jubaldo@templecity.us. We encourage you to wear your Healthy TC shirts when participating in the activities.  

To Enter the Raffle

Complete a row on your Bingo Card by participating in 5 activities along with 5 photos of your completed activities to qualify for a raffle ticket for a chance to win a gift certificate to the Temple City Bike Shop.

Deadline to submit will be Saturday, July 31st, noontime. Those that complete the challenge will be invited to attend a live raffle giveaway via zoom emailed at the end of the program. Raffle is scheduled for Tuesday, August 3^rd at 6 p.m.
